I wanna live in a place far, far away,
with no trains, planes, boats, or cars.
No ugly factories that pollute the air.
No paved roads or sidewalks or giant buildings made of steel.
I wanna live in a place far, far away,
in a field full of flowers,
surrounded by trees,
with a lake near by.
I want to look at the sun in a sky so blue,
it makes the Caribbean Sea jealous.
I want to see millions of stars every night
without man-made lighting to block their shine.
I want to live in a place far, far away
in a little wooden shack
with only two rooms and one window.
I want to grow a garden full of roses
without the ranking smell of garbage to block their scent.
I want to live in a place far, far away
from everyone but you.
Ill make a map only for you
to help you through the trees
to help you cross the swamps,
and to let you know which stones to step on,
and which ones that would crumble away at the slightest touch.
To help you cross the great abyss into my mind
that would help you understand me better.
I wanna live in a place far, far away
where no one can ridicule me
because I like to sit in trees
or because I like to plant dandelions on my yard.
I want to draw pictures of beetles and bubbles,
write stories of parakeets with clipped wings,
or guinea pigs with no squeaks.
I want to catch caterpillars, put them in jars and watch them grow,
swim with the seahorses and walk on the shore with crabs.
I want to live in a place far, far away
where you can jump from mountain top to mountain top,
understand what the wolves howl to one another,
and hear what the trees whisper.
I want to see the sun and moon share the same sky,
and see pink and purple sunsets that last till midnight.
I want to live in a place far, far away,
where I can sit on a hill with you to watch the sun rise
in a place thats actually real.
